About
My name is Rick Ford. I am, among other things, a technology and web enthusiast, web and intranet developer, and IT administrator.
Developing everything from splash pages to fully functional CMS driven sites, I pride myself in my flexibility and learning ability to take on any project that comes my way. My mind is a sponge. I am proficient in W3C compliant HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, and design composition, with a working knowledge of ASP and many other web-based languages and protocols. I am also a versed systems administrator working with Windows Server 2000-2008 based domains, as well as Windows, Mac and Linux systems.
I got into technology at a young age, when it wasn’t cool to be a nerd. I was the kid in class that could do anything on the Mac Classic. As I grew up, and as technology advanced, I gained knowledge in many areas. My first computer was a GRiD 1520 Laptop. It was a 12 Mhz 286 with 1MB of RAM and a 20MB hard drive. How’s that for some history?
Building, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of personal and business systems has given me a wide and dynamic knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting, operating system nuances, common user errors, and free/open-source solutions and alternatives for almost every piece of software available.
I am always progressing and constantly trying to better myself and my work. I haven’t encountered an obstacle that I couldn’t overcome. I’m a learner, a problem solver, and an innovative thinker.
